| Now Recruiting - Exploring Enterprise Programme - Jan 2012Posted: 19/12/2011 |
Exploring Enterprise2 Programme is a pre-start programme which will support activities to extend the employment opportunities of unemployed, long-term unemployed and inactive people by helping them to enter, remain and make progress in sustained employment. There will be a focus on people with disabilities and health conditions, lone parents, older workers, young people not in education, employment or training, women and people with low or no qualifications. Ultimately, EEP2 is designed to fill a gap in the provision of enterprise support by addressing the needs of people who are not yet ready to progress to self-employment and operates as a mechanism to develop a latent pool of entrepreneurship talent within NI’s most deprived communities / groups.
Participants do not need to have a specific business idea to join; the programme provides an insight into starting a business whilst allowing participants to work towards achieving a qualification. On successful completion of the accredited training course participants will be awarded a QCF2 Understanding Business Enterprise. In addition the programme will guide and assist individuals into and through the mainstream business support options.
Eligibility:
◦You must be unemployed or working less than 16hrs ◦Must be over 16 Benefits:
◦Completely FREE ◦Gain a qualification - QCF in Understanding Business Enterprise ◦Meet new people
◦Gain skills to enter Self-Employment/Employment The Exploring Enterprise 2 Programme is part financed by the European Social Fund, the Department for Employment and Learning, Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Enterprise Northern Ireland and the local Enterprise Agencies under the Northern Ireland ESF Programme 2007-13 |

| Management and Board of Dungannon Enterprise Centre StatementPosted: 01/10/2011 |
|
The management and board of Dungannon Enterprise Centre are saddened to learn of the death of a child on Wednesday 13th July. A unit at the Centre has been trading for the past two years as a food processing business. It was recently taken over by Uvarov Smoked Products Ltd. We believe the boy that died was the son of a Latvian employee of Uvarov Smoked Products Ltd. A neighbouring tenant made a call to the emergency services when the child's mother alerted him as to the child being unwell last Wednesday morning 13th July. Paramedics arrived within minutes and the child was taken by ambulance to Craigavon Area Hospital. Later that evening we were shocked to hear the little boy died. At this stage we are not aware of the cause of death. The management and board of Dungannon Enterprise Centre are fully cooperating with all the investigating agencies and wish to offer our sincere sympathy to the family of the child at this very difficult and tragic time. |
