Although Ramko is a relatively new venture, many people will be familiar with their sister company Northern Hydraulics and using the 20 years experience already earned in the industry Ramko are set to go far.

Barry Morris, the owner of the company first approached Dungannon Enterprise Centre in 2008 with his business idea and began the Go For It Programme. Barry has progressed onto the Growth Programme and has a number of customers on his books.  “Barry is one of our youngest and most successful clients. He made the jump into self employment and it has paid dividends for him,” Esther Baird, Business Development Manager, “At the Centre we look at individual needs and put together a Growth Action Plan. Jason talks about his journey with Dungannon Enterprise Centre, “Initially I came to Dungannon Business Centre to rent office space. Then I started the Go For It Programme. My problem was that I had the knowledge and the skill set to carry out the service I was going to provide but I lacked the business knowledge. I knew what I wanted to do, but didn’t know how to do it.” Chief Executive Officer, Brian MacAuley described Firstwave as a “great example” of the work that the centre does, “I would encourage the community to tap into the expertise we can offer in the same way as Jason. In addition to the Start a Business programme, we provide a range of support, coaching and consultancy services to assist new and established businesses, all free of charge.”

Jason has experienced a lot of success since Firstwave Design was established and plans to buy new machinery and expand the business. He intends to continue to use the resources within the centre.  “Dungannon Enterprise Centre has been with me every step of the way and is always there for advice when I need them, which I’ve needed many times!  I began renting an office in the complex and it progressed from there. I have been asked why I stayed within the business park and it is simply because the centre acts as my safety net. I have all the facilities around me which I need for my working environment.”

The Go For It – Start a Business Programme is designed to stimulate enterprise by encouraging individuals towards self employment. The centre’s business advisors are available to discuss any idea, regardless of what stage of the decision making process a person is at and the centre can provide essential training and guidance throughout the process of development. They also provide help and support on how to grow a business once it has been established.
